How do I help my child study Math?
Each night, allow your child to teach you what he or she has learned each day. Encourage mental calculations and "outside of the box" thinking. Math today isn't what we adults grew up being taught. Students are no longer taught to only do as the teacher does. Our Math class is full of discussions and justifications of our learning. Many more strategies for solving problems are explored to help students make their own sense of problems and develop deep mathematical reasoning.
